DONETSK / LUGANSK, September 15. / TASS /. The heads of the Lugansk and Donetsk People’s Republics (RPL and RPD) Leonid Pasechnik and Denis Pushilin on Wednesday signed an agreement on the creation of a single customs territory and the development of economic integration, Luganskinformcenter reported. The signing ceremony took place during a videoconference.
The agreement on the creation of the single customs zone and economic integration will improve the quality of life of the populations in the two republics, said Leonid Pasechnik.
“Today is an important day for our republics. Today, within the framework of the agreements we concluded earlier, we sign an agreement on the creation of the single customs territory and the development of economic integration,” said Pasechnik said, quoted by the agency.
The head of the LPR said that after the signing of this agreement, the parties will face a huge task to unify the two legislations.
“Of course, when making such decisions, we must take into consideration the interests of our producers, representatives of small, medium and large enterprises,” he stressed.
In turn, the head of the DPR Denis Pushilin noted that the Donbass republics will solve common tasks.
“This [the agreement — TASS] defines our common guidelines and aims to strengthen our mutually beneficial and equal cooperation, “said Pushilin, quoted by the news agency.
On September 6, Pushilin and Pasechnik announced that the RPL and DPR would create a single economic and customs area in accordance with the laws of the Russian Federation. The LPR and DPR authorities have also adopted socio-economic development programs for the Donbass republics for 2022-2024.
