The Rainbow PUSH Coalition (RPC), in partnership with the Citizen Education Fund and Push Excel, is hosting its annual international convention June 18-22.

RPC is an international membership organization that pushes for social change and equality for all citizens through advocacy, policy and community work. The theme for this year’s convention will be “Making America Free and Equal: Pushing to New Markets in 2022,” which will feature many distinguished speakers on topics of economic justice, suffrage, education and social impact.

“Our mission is to protect, defend and achieve civil rights by leveling the economic and educational playing field, and to promote peace and justice in the world,” the RPC website states.

The coalition was formed in 1996 by the Reverend Jesse L. Jackson, Sr. after merging his other founding organizations, People United to Serve Humanity and the Rainbow Coalition.

Sponsor of the upcoming convention, the Citizen Education Fund is a 501(c)(3) and affiliate of the Rainbow PUSH Coalition that encourages government and economic participation by disenfranchised people.

RPC, formerly known as PUSH Excel, also fights for equal educational opportunity for students facing systemic barriers due to race and/or economic status.
